Since 2020, the Maison has built its own production workshop in L’Honor-de-Cos: machines, gestures, a team — and the quiet insistence on doing things well.
The workshop
A workshop born of a conviction
When the health crisis weakened supply chains, Aurega chose to make rather than endure: acquiring machines, learning the gestures, building French production capacity.
Today, a small team crafts some fifty models there, from the straw Trilby to the winter felt — a growing part of our collections.
The steps
From material to hat
Nine steps, a single guiding thread: respect for the material. Every model follows this path, from the hands of the workshop to the final check.
Felts, straws, braided fibres: everything begins with the choice of a beautiful material, even and alive.
The materials
To know a material is already to respect it
Wool or fur felt, paja toquilla, raffia, straw, linen, cotton, leather: each material sets its own pace and calls for its own gestures.
Finishing
Trimming, the invisible signature
A hat is also judged from the inside: the evenness of a seam, the hold of a sweatband, the choice of a thread. It is in the trimming store — ribbons, grosgrains, threads of every colour — that the final touch of each model is decided.
Before shipping, every piece passes one last check: shape, size, stitching, hold. Nothing leaves that is not ready to be worn for years.
