Aurega

The Maison

A house born of a family story

Aurega is a French family business created in 2010 in L’Honor-de-Cos, in the Tarn-et-Garonne. A mother, a son, one craft: hat-making.

The founders

Danielle and Vincent, a craft shared

Before Aurega, two paths that answer one another: experience of the craft on one side, the drive to build on the other.

Co-founder

Danielle Garrigues

Nearly twenty-eight years spent in the administration of a hat company gave her an intimate knowledge of the trade: the materials, the shapes, the seasons, the clients. She is the one who brings Aurega the memory of hat-making.

Co-founder

Vincent Rességuier

After a career in finance in Paris, he chose to return to the Tarn-et-Garonne to build, with his mother, a house in their own image: demanding about the product, simple in its relationships, attached to its home ground.

“Together they then created Aurega: a house that unites the memory of the craft with the desire to move it forward.”

Aurega

Three syllables that bring together a family story and a place: the name Aurega carries those who founded the Maison.

Our story

From distribution to the workshop

Since 2010, a coherent path: first designing and distributing, then — when the world came to a halt — learning to make.

Our values

What we hold to

Family

Aurega was born of a mother-and-son duo and keeps building itself the way one keeps a house: over time, with loyalty.

Craftsmanship

Gestures learned, repeated, passed on. The hand remains at the centre of what we do, from shaping to trimming.

Territory

Based in L’Honor-de-Cos, the Maison is proud to keep a hat-making craft alive in the Tarn-et-Garonne.
