French manufacturing
French production at the heart of the Maison
From 2020 onwards, Aurega invested, equipped and trained in order to make part of its collections in France. A demanding choice, now one of the pillars of the Maison. Our Maison works most particularly with crocheted raffia, paja toquilla (Panama), wool and fur felts, and develops a line of washable, foldable, UPF 50+ hats much appreciated by our customers.

The workshop
L’Honor-de-Cos, Tarn-et-Garonne
It is here, in the heart of the South-West, that the Maison was born and that its workshop works. Around fifty shapes are made here — trilbys, fedoras, capelines, caps — with a capacity of several hundred hats a day.

What making it here changes
Six reasons to make in France
Craftsmanship
Pressing, brim work, trimming: precise gestures, learned and perfected in the workshop.
Proximity
Making here means deciding quickly, adjusting finely and staying close to our trade clients.
The gestures
Every hat passes through several pairs of hands; each adds its share of precision and care.
In-house production
Machines and skills under one roof: the Maison controls quality and lead times on the shapes it makes.
Transmission
A craft only exists if it is passed on: the workshop trains its team and helps it progress.
Quality
Piece-by-piece inspection before shipping: evenness, stitching, hold, size.
